A man accused of setting one of the worst arson sprees in the history of Los Angeles is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
Los Angeles County prosecutors were preparing paperwork Tuesday to charge German national Harry Burkhart with 100 felony counts in 49 fires across the city, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office.
Prosecutors say the spree of intentional blazes, which unnerved much of the city, was motivated by Burkhart’s “rage against Americans” after his mother was arrested on an international arrest warrant.
