Troubled US actress Lindsay Lohan was turned away from the LA county morgue Thursday, after turning up late for community service ordered as part of her probation terms, officials said.
The star apologized for being late, her latest no-show, saying on Twitter than she wouldn’t do it again.
Lohan had been scheduled to arrive for an 8:00 am start, a day after she was briefly jailed when a Los Angeles judge revoked the probation pending a hearing to determine whether she violated her terms.
The 25-year-old turned at 8:41 am, and was therefore turned away for being late, said coroner’s chief Craig Harvey. “She’s welcome to come back, but she has to show up on time,” he said.
The star of “Mean Girls” appeared handcuffed in court on Wednesday, but was later released after paying $100,000 bail, and a probation violation hearing was set for November 2.
She is supposed to carry out 16 hours of community service at the LA morgue by that date, so she can still fulfil that requirement despite missing the day Thursday — but it will not look good.
Lohan apologized for being late on Twitter, writing: “With all the stress and pressure from yesterday and today, I’ve never been so happy to go to therapy!!!!”
“Also, I’m sorry for the confusion that I may of caused to those at the coroner’s office. Won’t happen again, now I know where to go! Thank you for your help,” she added.
