Clippers waive seldom-used swingman Rasual Butler

The Los Angeles Clippers have waived guard-forward Rasual Butler.

Butler’s exit was paved by the departure of Baron Davis and the acquisition of point guard Mo Williams and small forward Jamario Moon in a deal with Cleveland.

Butler had played a total of five minutes in the eight games before the all-star break. He was making US$2.4 million this season, having signed a one-year deal with the Clippers last summer.
