American Idol took its 61 hopefuls to Las Vegas this week, and the results were, to be honest, underwhelming and very telling.
This was the first time the singers were showcased outside of the traditional Idol bubble. Despite a few good showings, there were no real standouts. And a lot of Glee wannabes. (Seriously, not everything needs to be a musical number.)
The judges criticisms were sometimes contradictory and didn’t make a lot of sense. Plus, why so much production so early in the game? Let’s save some of that for the top 12 and those delightful Ford commercials.
