Los Angeles police have confirmed they are investigating allegations that Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Mike Komisarek was involved in an altercation with a woman inside a Hollywood nightclub earlier this month, but are withholding further detail.
“At this point in time, all I can tell you is that it’s an ongoing investigation,” Los Angeles police detective Rolando Rodriguez said Monday. “The investigation is still open.”
No charges have been filed, and nothing has been proven in court.
The allegations were first published Saturday morning by TMZ.com, a website known for its coverage of celebrity news and gossip. Its report referenced unnamed police sources in an account alleging Komisarek punched a woman on Jan. 8 — after she had slapped him.
