Jury out in Anna Nicole Smith drugs trial

A jury began deliberating Tuesday in the trial of two doctors and a friend accused of fueling late model-turned-actress Anna Nicole Smith’s drug dependence.

Actress and Playboy model Smith died in February 2007 from an accidental prescription overdose in Florida, aged 39, although the three are not charged over her death.

But physicians Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich prescribed medication for her, in collaboration with her former companion Howard K. Stern, which fueled her addiction, prosecutors said during the trial.
