More than 10 hours after the first reports of an industrial fire in South Los Angeles, the blaze was still raging at mid-morning Wednesday.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said more than 50 firefighters were battling the blaze, which started just before midnight Tuesday on East Slauson Avenue. The fire has engulfed an entire city block, he said, and has swallowed a complex of buildings that includes a two-story office area, a warehouse and as many as six occupancies.
